CLASS, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH, 2014.

Today we only had an hour. Because there are two groups of classmates, the most advanced classmates remained in the classroom and made a list of potential tutorials that they are going to make and also these tutorials will be share with the less advanced classmates while these went up to the computer center and they finished the family tree and started another activity consisting in making 5 questions and using cells or charts to insert the options to each question. They did this in order to learn how to create an exam.!!!

CLASS, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH, 2014.

Today the most advanced students took some tutorials that will be applied to less advanced students.
but in this class we did  similar activities  such as that we have been doing in last classes. the most advanced students spent their time in the classroom talking and giving opinios  about the tutorials they investigated while the less advanced students went up to the computer room in order to keep on learning about Word. Today less advanced students created a beautiful family tree.
that's all for today.

CLASS,FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH, 2014

Hi! Today the teacher continued receiving the missing tutorials. Seconds later, we made a funny dynamic, that was called "mirrors. First, we made a big circle and then the teacher took out a classmate from the classroom. He immediately assigned to other classmate( this would be the mirror, the person who would do all the movements and gestures, obviously the rest of the classmates had to imitate the classmate).

After that, when the classmate who was outside had to enter and guess who was "the mirror". it was very very funny" and of course with educational purposes. We did this in order to "break the ice", it means when students are stressed, we can apply this wonderful dynamic.

Finally we talked about an interesting topic. Teacher gave us a task... We had to visit aulaclic in order to take a course but this task was only for more advanced students. the rest of them had to continue learning how to use Word.

CLASS, THURSDAY NOVEMBER 19TH, 2014

Hi! Today, we gave our printed tutorials to the teacher. After that, the teacher divided the group:

*Students more skilled in the subject.

*Student less skilled in the subject.

The teacher did this so that we all reach the same level of learning in this subject.

Then, the teacher assigned some peers to be the guardians of less skilled peers.

Finally some of us went at the computer center in order to start to explore the program:
Word.

Within the next few weeks we will learn to use further Power Point and Excel.

CLASS, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 14TH, 2014

Today we continue making observations and clarifying doubts with our teacher about how to create the tutorial but in this case the teacher taught us how to make screenshots and how to crop images to place on the detailed steps of the tutorial.

These are some steps that we follow to do it:
  • Press control print screen on screen
  • Go to paint
  • Select image and crop it
  • Press control X
  • Save image in the required format

Example of a cropped image to create an account at Facebook

Also the teacher gave us another task :
  • To download camtasia

Camtasia Studio

Camtasia Studio 7.0.1

Camtasia Studio and Camtasia for Mac are software suites, created and published by TechSmith, for creating video tutorials and presentations directly via screencast, or via a direct recording plug-in to Microsoft PowerPoint. The screen area to be recorded can be chosen freely, and audio or other multimedia recordings may be recorded at the same time or added separately from any other source and integrated in the Camtasia Studio component of the product. Both versions of Camtasia started as enhanced screen capture programs and have evolved to integrate screen capture and post processing tools targeted at the educational and information multimedia development marketplace.
Camtasia Studio v8 for Microsoft Windows consists of two major components:
  • Camtasia Recorder - a separate tool for capturing screen audio and video
  • Camtasia Studio editor - the component for which the entire product is named, which is now a multimedia authoring tool with the industry standard "timeline" interface for managing multiple clips in a stacked track form plus enhancements summarized below.

CLASS, THURSDAY NOVEMBER 13TH, 2014

In this class, we learnt how to create a tutorial!!!

What is a tutorial?

A tutorial is a method of transferring knowledge and may be used as a part of a learning process. More interactive and specific than a book or a lecture; a tutorial seeks to teach by example and supply the information to complete a certain task.
Depending on the context a tutorial can take one of many forms, ranging from a set of instructions to complete a task to an interactive problem solving session (usually in academia).

Tutorial class

In British academic parlance, a tutorial is a small class of one, or only a few, students, in which the tutor (a lecturer or other academic staff member) gives individual attention to the students. The tutorial system at Oxford and Cambridge is fundamental to methods of teaching at those universities, but it is by no means particular to them; Heythrop College (University of London), for instance, also offers a tutorial system with one-on-one teaching. It is rare for newer universities in the UK to have the resources to offer individual tuition; six to eight (or even more) students is a far more common tutorial size. At Cambridge, a tutorial is known as a supervision.
In Australian, New Zealand and South African universities, a tutorial (colloquially called a tute or tut in South Africa ) is a class of 10–30 students. Such tutorials are very similar to the Canadian system, although tutorials are usually led by honours or postgraduate students, known as 'tutors'.
At the two campuses of St. John's College, U.S. and a few other American colleges with a similar version of the Great Books program, a "tutorial" is a class of 12–16 students who meet regularly with the guidance of a tutor. The tutorial focuses on a certain subject area (e.g., mathematics tutorial, language tutorial) and generally proceeds with careful reading of selected primary texts and working through associated exercises (e.g., demonstrating a Euclid proof or translating ancient Greek poetry). Since formal lectures do not play a large part in the St. John's College curriculum, the tutorial is the primary method by which certain subjects are studied. However, at St. John's the tutorial is considered ancillary to the seminar, in which a slightly larger group of students meets with two tutors for broader discussion of the particular texts on the seminar list.
Some US colleges, such as Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, offer tutorials almost identical in structure to that of an Oxbridge tutorial. At Williams, students in tutorials typically work in pairs alongside a professor and meet weekly, alternately presenting position papers or critiques of their partner's paper.

Tutorial Schools

There are also specialised schools for tutoring such as Kumon and EduHub. These supplemental hands-on learning programmes are especially popular in Asia.

Conference Tutorials

Conference tutorials are one example of a continuing education activity sponsored by a technical and professional association as a service to its members.

Internet

Internet computer tutorials can take the form of a screen recording (screencast), a written document (either online or downloadable), interactive tutorial, or an audio file, where a person will give step by step instructions on how to do something.
Tutorials usually have the following characteristics:
  • A presentation of the view usually explaining and showing the user the user interface
  • A demonstration of a process, using examples to show how a workflow or process is completed; often broken up into discrete modules or sections.
  • Some method of review that reinforces or tests understanding of the content in the related module or section.
  • A transition to additional modules or sections that builds on the instructions already provided. Tutorials can be linear or branching.
While many writers refer to a mere list of instructions or tips as a tutorial, this usage can be misleading.

Computer-based tutoring

In computer-based education, a tutorial is a computer program whose purpose it is to assist users in learning how to use (parts of) a software product such as an office suite or any other application, operating system interface, programming tool, or video game. There are 3 kinds of software tutorials: 1) video tutorials that the user views, 2) interactive tutorials where the user follows on-screen instructions (and—in some cases—watches short instruction movies), whereupon he/she does the tutorial exercises and receives feedback depending on his/her actions; and 3) webinars where users participate in real-time lectures, online tutoring, or workshops remotely using web conferencing software.

Parts:

1.- Title
2.-Definition
3.-Introduction
4.-Quick start(fast steps, link and image)
5.-Detailed walkthrough(detailed steps)

Example:

Creating a Blog at Blogger

A web-log or "blog" is like an online diary. Where students, teachers, and anyone else can easily create and share online content and add comments. There are many possible uses of an educational blog. We will be using the bolgs as a reflective journal, a place to think out loud about what you've seen and done in the course, and how you are incorporating what you are learning into your teaching and context.

You can create a blog for free at www.blogger.com- here's how!

Quick start:

1.- Sign in or sign up with blogger
2.-Go to the home dashboard page, click "new blog"
3.-Give the blog a Little and choose a template
4.-Add content  in a new post
... (etc.)

Detailed Walkthrough:

1.- step 1. first .........( we have to give a detailed explanation for each step and add a image in order to understand more )
...(etc.)

The task was to create a tutorial about a educational topic like: how to create an account at gmail, how to download a video, etc.
